Google has started  initiatives to train and certify students and developers as part of its Android skilling programme in India / Android developer program in India, which aims to train 2 million mobile app developers. With its vision to help make India a global hub of high-quality mobile developers, Google is working on an Android Skilling program in India that aims to train two million mobile developers. By unveiling multiple initiatives across training partners and universities, Google is looking to make world-class Android Developer education accessible to millions of students and developers.

The specially designed instructor led training programme on Android Fundamentals will be made available across public and private universities and training institutes of the National Skill Development Corporation. “India is expected to have the largest developer population globally, overtaking the US, by 2018, with 4 million developers, but only 25% are building for mobile today. We believe India is uniquely placed to innovate and shape the Internet experience of billions of users who are and will come online on the mobile platform,” said Caesar Sengupta, vice-president of product management at Google.

Learn Android development skills in college

Google is creating a new classroom-based training course to teach Android develoment skills to students at universities in India.

This course is designed for computer science students, and guides students through building apps as they develop the skills needed to get an entry-level job as an Android developer. After completing the course and building the apps in the course, students should be ready to take the exam for the Associate Android Developer Certification.

Study online

Google and Udacity teamed up to create a series of courses to help you learn Android development. Work through these courses on your own time at your own pace. Take individual courses for free, or enroll in a nanodegree to get help and guidance while you learn to create a suite of applications.

NPTEL, in collaboration with Google Developers, is offering a free Mobile Computing course designed to help students prepare for the Associate Android Developer Certification.

Google has announced The Android Developer Fundamentals course, a specially-designed instructor-led training program that will be made available across public and private universities and training institutes of the National Skill Development Corporation of India. This in-person training will be integrated with Computer Science curricula of universities within this calendar year. The Android Developer Fundamentals course material will also be covered on NPTEL (an IIT Madras project in collaboration with the IITs and IISc) as part of its online Mobile Computing course starting July 18, 2016.
