JEE Main 2016 Rank List is about to be announced today, June 23 approximately by evening,  for Students who appeared in JEE Main 2016 Exam. The JEE Main Rank List 2016 will rank candidates basing on candidates’ JEE Main score (60% weightage) combined with normalized score of class 12th marks which has 40% weightage on All India Ranks AIR. JEE Main 2016 Result was already announced by CBSE on April 27 and now only JEE Main 2016 All India Ranks (AIR) is awaited( Notification is displayed JEE Main ranks are expected on June 23, 2016.)

What is Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2016 has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 92 institutes for the academic year 2016-17. This includes 22 IITs, ISM, 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.

What is JEE Main 2016 Rank List

JEE Main 2016 Rank List is the basis for granting admission to B.E. /B.Tech. in engineering institutions including NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Nearly 24,000 undergraduate engineering seats will be allotted to the candidates based on their JEE Main 2016 AIRs. 

Admission criteria to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by participating State Governments, and other Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.
The States of Gujarat, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) – 2016 application form online.
