Holi is celebrated over two days in the country. On the first day, a ritual marking the burning of Holika is held followed by Holi, when people play with colours. The main festival of Holi falls on March 24 this year. Meanwhile, the festive fever also gripped the people in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh state as devotees thronged the famous ‘Mahakaleshwar’ temple for Holi celebrations. Similar scenes played out at the renowned ‘Banke Bihari’ temple in Mathura district of the Uttar Pradesh. Devotees jostled with each other to get a glimpse of Lord Krishna’s idol at the temple and forgetting their mutual differences smeared each other with colours. Source- ANI News
