Today is the first day of the first test of a four Test series between India and west Indies here at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground. Virat Kohli has already hinted that he will go with Five Bowlers to encash the Ground Condition. Check live scores and live cricket streaming Links, updates of the match here. Match starts at 19:30 IST (14:00 GMT).
Earlier, India toured West Indies in 2006 and 2011, and won both times in the series. Since then much has changed. The two teams, along with a change of leadership has seen a change in the team’s performance. To lead the side for the grand tour just after retiring Mahendra Singh Dhoni is challenging for Virat Kohli. Above them is the responsibility of repeating the success of the Last Srilanka tour, after years where India had beaten Sri Lanka 2-1 victory.

India 302/4 (Kohli 143*, Dhawan 84; Bishoo 3/108) vs West Indies
India skipper Virat Kohli won toss and decided to bat first. India is going with five-bowlers , going in with three seamers and two spinners. Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Shardul Thakur and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were the unlucky ones being left out of the Squad.
Virat Kohli to go with Five Bowlers
Indian skipper Virat Kohli has declared that his side will look to play “attacking cricket” preferably with “five specialist bowlers” in order to set the tone for the four-match Test series against the West Indies.
“I am always in the favour of playing five bowlers because if we play more batsmen, you can score 700 runs in a Test but that doesn’t help in any way. You need to take 20 wickets to win a Test match. So our top five batsmen plus the wicketkeeper will have to take responsibility and raise a big score so that we can bowl them out twice,” Kohli said at the pre-match press conference. Source
M S Dhoni on Prospects of India Winning Test Series-
Dhoni told reporters at the event that “I think spinners will play a big role considering slow wickets in the West Indies. Dhoni said they think it is impressive that India now has a pool of eight to 10 good fast bowlers.”

Pitch Report for WI Vs Ind 1st Test 1st Day
“I was speaking to the groundsman recently and he told me that he is looking to make some changes, where he is hoping to have some more bounce on the track itself. Hoping that he could have this sort of a wicket that produces the pace and bounce that I think, maybe, would be of help. And not just maybe, to the bowlers but also to batters,” he said.
“If the ball is going to bounce around like that, batsmen do like to know that the ball is coming through so long as it’s even. But having said that, let’s wait and see what the pitch offers up.” Sir Vivian Richards
