Manohar Parrikar’s Warning to Congress- What Not done in Bofors, Will do in Augusta
Manohar Parrikar led The government’s offensive against the Congress over VVIP choppers Agusta Westland deal. He roared in Lok Sabha today, “What we could not do in Bofors, may be we will do it in AgustaWestland case”.
Slamming Congress and then UPA government, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said that Congress created a single vendor situation in AgustaWestland deal.
The minister also said that originally the tender document was given to AugustaWest Land Italy, but the rule was breached and intentionally deviated in the sense that the tender was filled by Agusta Westland International Limited of UK which is not an original equipment manufacturing company.
The Defence Minister also said that rule was again breached when FET or Field Evaluation trial was conducted outside India.
