Rashtra Mandir – Where freedom Fighters are gods
We Need Hundreds of These.
Rashtra Mandir does not have pictures or idols of gods. Located adjacent to the biggest Shiv temple, Manmakameshwar Mandir, the shrine has pictures and statues of freedom fighters like Chandra Shekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Ashfaq Ullah Khan and Mother Teresa. A huge statue of Mahatma Gandhi and his three wise monkeys are a major centre of attraction in the building.
Tilkayasta Mahant Yogesh Puri, the man behind the idea of this temple feels that freedom fighters, who laid down their lives for the freedom of the country, should be worshipped like gods.
“Just as we revere and worship our ancestors during the pitr paksh, we must also do the same with these great men and women who have done so much for humanity. We look at them with respect as gods; their ideas will fuel our actions,” said Vijay Kumar Handa of the Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha, Delhi.
I agree ,in these troubled times we do need them,we need their teachings. They are the makers of our great country
We must remember them as our gods.
