Telecom company Reliance Jio will provide complementary unlimited free high-speed Wi-Fi at six upcoming T20 World Cup Venues. Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL) spokesman said that company will set up wi-fi access points in Eden Gardens(Kolkata), Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), IS Bindra stadium (Mohali), HPCA Stadium (Dharamsala), the Chinnaswamy stadium (Bangalore) and Feroz Shah Kotla (Delhi) . The Wi-Fi service will be free for all users in the stadium.
Telecom company Reliance Jio is the only company which holds pan India Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum license. Company has launched its Jionet network, which comprises over 650 access points, and is supported by 100 Gbps backhaul to ensure around 15 Mbps speed for over 40,000 spectators during the matches. Earlier, the company had tested its Wi-Fi service during a one day cricket match between India and South Africa in April 2015 at the Wankhede Stadium.
