Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha passed away at 68 late on Monday evening after failing to recover from a cardiac arrest she suffered on Sunday.
Jayalalitha , who was admitted to hospital on September 22 with complaints of fever and dehydration, suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening.

Jayalalithaa Jayaraman, commonly referred to as Amma and Puratchi Thalaivi by members in her party; also called as Jaya or Jayalalitha Jayaram, was an Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, in office upto 2016 until her demise.
