Now comes, SAI cook who Claims Wrestler Narsingh‘s food was indeed tampered and that too allegedly by Competitor Sushil’s Relative. Cook at Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sonepat training centre says that he  identified a man who had allegedly tinkered with the Rio-bound wrestler’s food.


This Now authenticates Narsingh’s side of story, who repeatedly complained of foul play, is scheduled to appear before National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) for a second hearing on Wednesday and this revelation can help him strengthen his case.

26-year-old Narsingh Yadav had tested positive for banned anabolic steroid methandienone which has put his participation in the Rio Games under question. The Wrestler was selected to represent India in the 74kg category. But sportsman from start has maintained that he was framed by rivals, who tampered with his food and supplements so that he will be barred from Olympics.

India Today performed a sting operation where it was allegedly found that an intruder had spiked the food eaten by the wrestler. Now the cook at SAI reportedly said the accused mixed a white powder in the food. Also, reports suggest that accused is a relative of wrestler Sushil Kumar, who fought a legal battle with Narsingh and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) regarding selection for Rio Olympics.

After Narsingh himself claimed foul play, an India Today sting operation revealed that there were chances of an intruder spiking the food that was to be served for Narsingh. The cook found intruders and noticed froth coming out of the food which was being prepared.

The cook has now confirmed the claim saying the accused allegedly mixed a white powder in the food. According to reports, the accused is a relative of an international wrestler Sushil Kumar at the Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi. The recent evidence is likely to help make Narsingh’s case stronger during tomorrow’s hearing in front of the NADA panel.


Meanwhile it is also been reported that The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) reportedly announced Praveen Rana as the replacement of Narsingh Yadav at the Rio Olympics in the 74kg freestyle category.

Narsingh Pancham Yadav (born 6 August 1989) is an Indian wrestler. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he won the gold medal in the men’s freestyle 74 kg category. After winning India’s sole medal at the 2015 World Wrestling Championships, Narsingh booked himself a ticket to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. But his spot at the Olympics was in contention with Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar also vying for that same berth.
